Fresh Dill Weed — Dehydrated and ready for pickling …
In my gardens, the fresh Dill Weed grows profusely in the Spring and often dies back in the summer heat, just as the cucumbers are ready for canning. In the past, I’ve used fresh from the store, and I’ve also used frozen from a friend’s garden. This year, I’m drying the Dill and storing it until the cucumbers are ready. The photo illustrates how the fresh Dill is still green and bulky, whereas the store-bought packaged dill is finer and brownish in color. Updates when the Cucumbers are canned in June/July!
