Fall Blooming Daylilies
Some of my daylilies are repeat bloomers — they take a brief break during the heat of summer, then return in the Fall.
The variety “Faded Love” dependably repeats it’s show of blooms for a long Spring bloom (generally about 6 to 8 weeks, starting in Mid May), then again in Fall (not quite to “official” Fall season, but the blooms are once again appearing.)
With fewer than 7 days of 100 degree temperatures, the blooms this year are larger than in the past. Usually the Fall blooms start out about 1/2 the size of the Spring blooms, and gradually increase in size with decreasing temperatures.
One of my best repeat bloomers — “Faded Love”!
