First of the maroon blooms for Theron!
Theron is an heirloom daylily variety. Described as the first “red” , I prefer to call it a maroon color. It was obtained as a pass-along from a family member.
In my gardens, the blooms appear in Spring, and again in Fall —- if conditions are favorable and it’s not one of those long summers with more than a dozen days of over 100 degrees!
Easy to grow, this daylily will persist in most conditions, but puts on its best show when the soil is loose and well-drained with plenty of organic material!
